First page in my mixed media journal!

This was fun - and dirty and I loved it - maybe I will do another page soon!

This is my blog, right?

LOL I had such a hard time finding it!

I forget I have a blog sometimes, I am not a social beast... mostly I post in here for future reference, just to see how far I come in my creating process... would be nice if I could remember to post more on here!

I am quickly going to show some cards and then head to bed.

Have you heard of Napkin Cards?

These cards are for a swap in a facebook group called Elite Swappers... thank you Ginger for hosting the swap and coming up with the insane idea to make napkin cards... LOL : )

Ok so there is this new fad all over pinterest and facebook, it is napkin cards... yes you heard me right, lol, instead of all the beautiful cardstock you buy you use beautiful napkins!

Fun as the concept sounds... it wasn't fun!

First you find cute napkins, gorgeous ones or anyones you want : ) Then you use saran wrap as glue and you iron the napkin to your cardstock... it was tedious to say the least... but I like to try new things so I did it...  I now have an iron solely designated to my craft room... sigh...

But on a positive note I did get to use my new stamp set from maymay made it : ) I used it on the inside of the santa card.

You really can't see it but I used embossing powder on his legs and some glitter on the chimney...

the scraps I used to make a bookmark for a swap in another group - I love how it turned out!

Just thought I'd share yet another new experience in crafting with y'all ; )

keep playing with the paper and glue, til next time, Lo

Another set of cards to share!

Hope everyone is having an amazing saturday - mine may not be amazing but it has been uneventful and that is always nice : )

I made these set of cards with the die on wednesday - then last night, around midnight, laying in bed I remembered the scraps... LOL... I thought about making some step cards with them, so I got up and did just that!

Yes I am a night owl by nature - I force myself to keep regular business hours most of the time but if truth be told I could easily have been a vampire... well yea except the sucking peoples blood thing, I'd have to be an alternative vampire kinda girl : )

Ok on to the card shares and no more of the blood sucking, eeeuucccckkk...

This is the die set I used - It is newer I think, I got it from Joann.com and it only took 28 days to get here - yiiipppeeee.... It is a Sizzix set designed by Stephanie Barnard - card, fancy flip-its #2 - the only complaint I had it that the mat dies are so small - I went ahead and ordered the sizzix framelits #4 so I can have a larger mat area... for $29.00 it should come with a larger mat die... but I won't complain too much because I actually like the cards it makes and the dies are simple to use.

This is the stuff I started with - the cards had to for sure have Gold & Navy Blue and then your choice of an accent color - I chose red for my accent color : )

this is the die -

if you decide to purchase it plan on getting the framelits #4, I found them cheapest on amazon they are sold by sizzix.

Cards made from the die set - they are simple but look kind of classy - they are for a swap in a private group on facebook (not they did not make me beg to join... ok not literally like on my hands and knees... )

ok tilt your head cause it will not flip...

so after I had these made I had leftovers - lots of them - so I made these, even the bases are from the left overs - they are not true a2 size but are only off by 1/4 inch... no one will notice... who goes around measuring cards when they gets them anyhow.

and to be honest I like the scrap cards as much as the die cards...

so what do I have left from my mess...

still enough for a card or 2 if I got really creative - and I might. I really hate to waste cardstock... especially card stock with whales on it!

Thanks for looking at my crafty card mess - it was fun to make it, and fun to share it - hope you have a messy crafty day too - til next time, Lo

Just a card share : ) Happy Sunday!!

Hi everyone (everyone who reads my blog at least : )

I wonder are there a lot of blog readers still... I do not read lot of blogs anymore. Not because I am not interested, but because I watch my favorite bloggers on youtube now... and facebook and instagram...

But I will show this here but just know I am also going to show on youtube : )

Ok on to the cards : )

This is the mess I collected to begin with - I pretty much stuck with it, I did also use a Tim Holtz  Type set alpha die for the I and the U on the orange card... and I used my glue gun and also Scotch quick dry tacky glue and pinky...

little note about the paper stack, it is an older one from DCWV, it is called the kidosaurus stack
I think it is still available and it is adorable!

These cards were inspired by me getting a new die set yesterday - I used my blitsy points and it only costed me shipping - YEA for me : )

and now for the cards : )

cute, huh!

Close ups...
this is my favorite... probably because they are laughing : )
too bad you can't see the buttons better, love those colors!

totally love the feel of the paper on this one, this is the only one I did anything to the inside.

and the last one...

I am not sure this die will be my favorite but it really did make a quick set of cards that took little to
no pondering - I made this cards in under an hour and I think they are great looking kid cards!

My next set of cards and maybe a mini will be from some older sizzix dies (new to me) Album accordion flip 3-d and the matching frame label and bracket die.

cya soon - Lo

Rj's Embossing Folder Challenge

Hey, been a long time, wonder if I still have any follower's : )

Just thought I'd post here instead of youtube : )

This is just a card share to support Rj in his challenge.

I was not certain the card needed to be christmas but I went with that theme : )

Here is a link to Rj's youtube and blog, go visit him and maybe play along with the challenge too!

http://thriftycraftermale.blogspot.com/ and http://youtu.be/qmzHOoKkRSU

Here is the beginning - I gathered up what I thought I would use...

the front

The snowflake glitter cardstock comes from a lil pad by DCWV called the Christmas Glitter matstack, the embossing folder is by sizzix the caroling people are from a tim holtz die (ty Jodi!) the solid cardstock is core'dinations (from Joann) the name of the package is botanicals. Sorry I bought the dies second hand so I have no idea who makes them and the sentiment is from the stampinup set called teeny tiny wishes.

the inside
part of the challenge was to decorate the inside also : )

thats all for me folks - I hope some of you will participate in Rj's Challenge : )

Happy Day to you!!!!

OMGosh I made the cutest cards tonight - took me about 1 hour and then 15 minutes to make one on camera - so simple and unique! That included cutting the paper, inking and prepping the bags, heck even the hardest part, picking the paper! Not very often I get 4 cars in 1 hour and 15 minutes!

I think all of us have paper bags, either leftovers from mini's or ones we have earmarked for future minis : ) Get rid of a few on a couple of these cards!

I got the idea from Peggy, the very same Peggy as Jppeggy2 on youtube (here is a link to her video, and she is going to really show u how to make them : )

Anyhow here is a Pic of how adorable they are -

and you can watch my video if you want to see how simple one comes together : )

Have a wonderful evening - g'nite ~ Lo

Homemade glue gun stand and distress ink tools... from recycled stamp blocks!

Hello!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Long time no see : )

I am up late this morning, really still my nite - YIKES it is almost 5 am! The time change has done me in! I will get a few hours sleep before I need to be up so it is ok : ) Hope all of you are reading this at a more normal time of day.

I took the rest of the rubber stamps that I am keeping off the blocks tonight and ended up with some neat sized blocks - so I made stuff!

I made a glue gun stand and some distress ink tools! Yes I did!

I still need to add the dowels to the glue gun stand but it will get finished tomorrow - I love it - small, space saving... and free!

The shapes might not be exactly the same as what you have stamp blocks but maybe you have similar sizes to work with.

Tell me what you use those leftover stamp blocks for plz - I have a whole sack filled with them - the wood is so pretty I just hate to toss them out.

I think I could catch some ZZZzzzzz's now - so goodnight.... or good morning : )

Leave me a comment on what u do to recycle stuff in your craft space - and especially the stamp blocks if you have ideas - cya ~ Lo

And here is my youtube video if you want to see more detail.
