SIP Challenge #25!

Bored? Looking for something to challenge yourself with? Go over to Stamp Ink Paper and make a card! : )
This week's challenge is a fun one because it can be anything you want!

I finally got to use my Tim Holtz Boughs of Holly die, I love those on the edge dies! I don't know who makes the background die so I won't try to guess... I also used the Tim Holtz Festive Ephemera pack, ribbon from Joanns and beautiful Flavours brand Thai Basil card stock (green) and Stardream brand metallic jupiter cardstock (red) - the card base is Royal Sundance Linen 80lb cardstock in the color natural and of course, as almost always, all my paper choices can be purchased at CutCardStock.com and they are all on sale this week!

The cardboard on the front is just packing material! Save your interesting packing material and see if you can't recycle it into a project : )

Ok I showed you my awesome, wonderfully festive card - now get off my blog and go get crafty or bake something : )

til next time, Lo

Chunky charms and cards to show!

Hello!!!!!!!!!

I have been feeling 'fallish' I think summer may be over for us in north dakota, we have had fall weather for the past week and it is delicious! Those few 90+ degree days were rough!

I have been passing the evenings crafting, as usual, this week I made some chunky charms and also a couple cards... funny thing, I made the cards upside down! too funny - just remounted them and they are fine : )

Chunky charm share first - there is not infor to share as far as the beads or charms - they are just random from my stash and the chains and hardware are just findings from my stash too...

I really like how they turned out!

Ok now the cards -

the first cards are fall themed, my favorite season : ) I at first thought they were too plain but Larry said they look fine... lol, I will trust him on this : )

and then the halloween, I love the halloween one, I just like halloween I think : )

both the main character of the cards - the monster and the pumpkins are lawn fawn dies and the houses and fences come from sizzix on the edge dies... the spooky cemetery and the border pumpkins are Martha Stewart punches. All solid paper involved comes from cutcardstock.com and the patterened paper is CEI. The trim is called 'In The Loom' It came from a destash I bought so I don't know where is came from... and all the leaves on the table are cut from a paper smooches die called Leaves1,  yes just leaves1...

Jennifer told me I needed to make my photos have more 'curb appeal' lol, I hope this is what she meant... if not the next ones I will go out side and take ; )

It is august 24th and it is 43 degrees outside... my feet are so cold!

I hope it is a nice 72 degrees (what I feel is the perfect temp) wherever you, my readers may be with a nice warm southerly breeze just barely blowing the corner of your beach towel... nope, subliminal imagery did not work, my feet are still cold!

Cya! ~ Lorri : )

PS my next share will be my 'LoDori'... LOL, don't miss it!

Real quick card share

I saw a card on Brandys Youtube (but I am linking you to her blog : ) the design of the card was so cute! So I cased it!

Isn't the design unique? I think so!

This is for the card swap in Stampin Addicts on facebook, one of my most favorite swap groups.
This swap was for the generic one, a stamp set you had not been inspired to use yet.

the stamp and die set I used is from Paper Smooches and it is called Super Hero.
I also used the Paper Smooches Space set for the stars.
The card stock is all the Basis Brand, go find it at cutcardstock.com
the twine is Lawn Fawn.

that's all folks : )
See ya next time, same place, different date and time : )
~Bye~

I had a revelation... why my mojo fled.

Hi!

This week I have been creatively constipated... that's what I will call it... cause I really wanted to create, be productive but try as hard as I might I just couldn't force it... lol, great analogy, right?

I figured it out - as I was watching delygirl1962 over on youtube show off her newest journal it hit me... I am forcing myself to work with bright colors, PINK, and I do not like them, most especially I do not like PINK, I hate the whole style of what I am forcing myself to make and I am doing it just to 'fit in'... we all know I do not ever compromise myself to 'fit in' so I had to question myself why I was doing it now... I had to sit and think... I am doing it because it is something I bought and I just hate to not use it... I love the designer who sent me this kit, she is an amazing person... and I will finish this album, gift it to someone who likes these repulsive colors (hahahahaha) and move on to something grungy and dirty and be me again! And it has GOLD in it, lol, yes bright GOLD... not coppery gold, not beautiful brassy gold, but bright gold... lol, UUUGGGGG....

this is a preview of how far I have got and a sample of what I will tag and embellish with... oh the cheerfulness of it all is disturbing!

Now on to more positive things, the previous week I really did accomplish some stuff... I made some bookmarks - they are so cute!

and yesterday... no maybe it was friday...hhhuuummmmm I do not recall, anyhow I played with Lamekas stamp set 'Besties' I am not sure if it is her newest but it is so cute, it is one I wanted to have! You can get her stamps over at pinkbowties.biz

and the Stamps set - so cute!

so to close this post I will add - I am going to go on a spending freeze, I have so many new things and have had no desire to play - so for the next few weeks I am going to shop my stash and play that way.

Next time you find your mojo has left the building, try and determine why... maybe you're stifling yourself!

Have a great week and get your crafty groove on!

Another fun saturday!

I got to spend my saturday making cards again and it was so much fun!

Do you ever buy destashes? I do occasionally and I did last week from a crafter on youtube - I got some neat dies and one was a huge mason jar (also the matching mini mason die) - it is meant to be for a mini but I wanted to make some cards! So happy to say I made this card out of my own head : ) I wanted the front to look like a label but not a typical label - the label opens out and you can write on the inside underneath it. I cut the card base from a box I was going to recycle, so I really did a 'duo recycle' on it!
The patterned paper is more from the unknown stack, I m trying hard to use up the florals just to get them on out of my paper horde. the back is covered in the same patterned paper.

Then I had some scraps and I hate to waste so I made one more card to add to my ever growing mound - sometimes I like the scrap cards more than the ones I set out to make...

I hope your saturday was as relaxing as mine : )

Card made from G45 By The Sea

I am working on a mini album with this wonderful paper and needed a break from it! I am in love with the Graphic 45 By the Sea paper - it has some stunning prints in it!
I took some of the scraps I had and decided to play with more of my trash, lol, the corrugated liner paper from the other day - same stampin up card bases too...these cards are a lil out there, but at least they are unique : )

I used the spellbinders dies called sweet treats for the tag and the anchor is a spellbinders die too and the lil tiny bow on the inside is a waffle flower die and it is called tiny twine bow I cannot recall where the filagree die is from, it is loose, I have wave dies but this filigree just looked better to me - guess where the ribbon is from - yep you got it, it is from really reasonable ribbon.com and it is a faded bluejean ribbon, matches this paper so well!
On the inside you can slide a handwritten letter behind the tag!

I like how this card came out, it could just be because I love the paper so much!

Just Another Card

Before I tucked one of my favorite stamps back in the drawer I decided to use her again (all my stamps are of the female persuasion, lol).

This one is just made from a few scraps in my bin - the base is 'something' stampin up, it came from an assorted card base set and the flowers are cut from the leftovers of a studio calico paper called classic calico - the green shimmer paper is a mystery one from off cuts from cutcardstock.com - love it, wish I had more : )

I used my stampin up thing called 'the tearing edge' to get the jagged edge and the ribbon comes from the Aqua and Coral ribbon mix from Really Reasonable Ribbon... and the corrugated cardboard is just a piece of trash and it inspired the card, lol!

I used some Tim Holtz Distress crackle paint in Vintage Photo on the cardboard to give it a old falling apart look and then used some glimmer glaze and recollections embossing powder in Glacier to make it look like peeling paint on an old wall... I like how the effect turned out!

I popped the flowers up a lil differently, I wanted them to have some depth from the side view -

I think I like how it turned out - I will add it to my stash til it is needed....

Not sure what to start next - tomorrow I should be getting a order from blitsy, some paper smooches stamps and dies, maybe a Joann's order, that will be G45 and some copics to fill mine out... and sometime this week I will get my studio calic order, just one lil die set that will make me so happy, Kids at Play, expect a kite card!
Oooo and soon the adorable lil whale set will be rolling in from Stephanie Barnard - I cannot wait!

Have a wonderful rest of your week, I vill b back : )

A few card shares.

No momentous news to share - we mowed, cleaned both the Jeeps out - been awhile since they were both running and legal at the same time! I am not sure how so much grunge accumulates on them over the winter but it does! Whewww I am glad they are clean!

I have been making a couple cards - I always make cards but I sometime forget to share : (

The first card is very simple - it is just stamped from the Stamps of Life set crayons2stamp (you can purchase it here) I like how simple this card is!

I am a big fan of all things Stephanie Barnard and I use her stamps and dies a bunch!
I love how versatile and interchangeable they are!

The next 2 cards are for a swap over at the facebook group Stampin Addicts - this is such a fun, friendly group, and if you like swapping cards it is a great one because there are few rules and no performance requirements - if you have to miss a month it is ok! Als, if you are looking to buy cool retired stampin up stamps it is a good place to look!

The card is made with the stampin up owl punch - I love punch art and this card came out so cute!

the sentiment comes from a stamp set from My Craft Spot - it is called Cute Critters - Kim creates awesome stamp set - find them here.

The next one is also punch art, but with a circle - it is just circles staggered in sizes with a flat back pearl in the center - simple and sweet : ) The leaves and stem are from the Simon Says Stamp set Floral Bookmarking - one of my favorite stamp sets! The scalloped oval is a spellbinders (sorry I don't keep the packages so I don't know which one it is...) the paper is some trendy pad that was on sale at Michaels but I can't remember right off what the name on it was. (I am trying to get through it, I am not a fan of pink or flowered paper, lol, it's killin me!) And the ribbon is worth a mention, it comes from the Really Reasonable Ribbon monthly ribbon club assortment, this pink came from the january assortment, for 9 dollars a month it is a real deal!
The middle white oval comes from my ridiculously expensive GMUND Savanna Paper in Limba... it is beautiful paper but next time I will am tempted to buy it I will remind myself I own several wood grain embossing folders : )
Here is the card I spent 10 minutes telling you about, lol.

Thanks for spending some time looking at the cards and reading my pittle pattle : )
Have a wonderful day, week, possible months, who knows the next time I will remember I have a blog : )
Cya! Lo
