Sweetie & Little Sister

Just thought I would share our new lil fur friends.

They came to us with the names of Princess and Larry - we could have no more Larrys in our house and I do not like the name princess- so we started thinking of names - we thought we were going to settle for Bam Bam and Pebbles - cute names for cute kitties but they would not come to them. I always called the girl sister and soon she started responding to it, so she got her's by default, but the lil boy is just a furry bundle of sweetness so I decided he would be sweetie, he does not really come to it, he did not come to Larry either, he responds to kissy kissy noises the best., but he will learn his name eventually.

It is not the best picture but I had to get them snuggling, it is too sweet!

They never get too far from each other, if they get separated lil sister mewels for sweetie and he stops whatever he is doing and goes to find her. It is adorable.

Were going to the vet tomorrow for a check up and maybe shots depending on their age, which will be determined by the vet. The vet said they will not fix them until they are at least 2 months, so I am hoping he determines them to be at least that old.

I will try to remember to share them more as they grow : )

til next post, Lo

Finally finished one of the Prima Romance Novel Albums.

Hey folks - I just wanted to come say Hi - I have been a lil busy the past few weeks but stuff is slowing down.

I have had sometime to craft a little bit - I made 2 minis and completed one of the albums for my nieces. Larry is going to mail it out tomorrow for his new niece, his nephew Stephens wife - I hope she likes it.

I am going to finish the other one this week and get it off to my niece - and then I will work on that dang afghan for a while - it sure has taken a long while to finish it up.

Here is a little preview of the album - you can follow the link below it to my youtube and I will tell you all about my "Opps" along the way in assembling it : )

Have a wonderful evening, Happy Fathers Day to all, and I will see you next time - Lorri

Rolled Rose Tut

I figured since I finally found better light I'd show how to roll the roses - I said I would after a previous video but I really do feel odd talking to myself doing these videos... so weird. I am not the best demonstrator, and I said 'weird' 50 million times during the video... I never say weird... til today : )

These roses are not my 'creation' I saw them once on youtube and I did not favorite it so I am having a hard time giving the original uploader credit... thank you to the original uploader and if you tell me who you are I will put a link to your video in the 'about' box : )

So you say what is so special about paper roses? Nothing, lol, but they are easy and cheap to make and look great on album covers... and if you make them white they are easy to color... they are not 'special' but they do make things look special : )

I colored these with Glimmer Mist. in the past I have used paint (acrylic and also water colors) if you want more of a flat color try a mist like sprinklers (october afternoon makes them) and if you want them super colorful and vibrant try Dylusions (Ranger brand) - those are my suggestions but you could pretty much color them with anything... they look really pretty with that furry embossing powder on the tips and glitter glue... - I am just sayin you can really dress these simple flowers up nice : )

Click the Picture to go to the Youtube tut.

I hope u give them a try, heck they would be a great thing to do with your kids they are so simple and easy!

til next time ~Lorri

Prima Romance Novel Albums (Preview)

Hello! Happy Memorial Day! Thank you so much to all our soldiers, past and present, I appreciate you and your gift of promised freedom very much.
I cannot believe it is already May 27th! May 27th is a very special day to me, it is my sweetie's Birthday! He is getting so old, LOL, I know, I know, how do I stay 29 year after year and he just gets older and older... hahaha ; )

I can't complain about the weather, it has been absolutely beautiful! Me and Morticia Addams have the same taste in weather :  )

I have been working on a couple more Albums this week - these I love! I probably just like them so much because of the paper, the paper I am using is beyond gorgeous.... it is gorgelicious! It is the Prima Romance Novel - yes I know I joined the party late on this paper but it still makes it no less beautiful : )

I thought I'd give you a peek at them in progress - I still have a days work left on them when I get the closures for the front. I am not going to cover the front too much with decoration, I love the paper too much!

here is a little picture preview and I also did a video you can check out here or click on any of the pictures and hopefully they take you to youtube.

The Cover (so far)

The Pages

The back

I cannot wait to finish them, I want to gift them to their recipients, I hope they will love them!

Have an awesome rest of the day! ~Lorri

I finished my lil 4th of July Album.

I won't say I 'finally' finished it because that makes it sound like a chore, and it wasn't - I really enjoy making them because for hours I do not have to think about anything else - it is so relaxing to paper craft. No other craft I do it as relaxing as working with paper and tape : )

I feel so blessed to have someone actually want it and I do not have to pawn it off on someone, lol! Just made my day to have someone ask for it!

Here is a link to the youtube video of the finished thing. Don't laugh at my video, LOL, I feel so strange talking and there is no one there...

c'ya - Lo

Just another card post

It was really hard to get motivated to make cards, our weather has been so nice! Barely any snow is left on the ground and the sun has been out, birds are everywhere and the best part was Larry was home for a few days letting his back rest and it was so nice! He has become so interested in Dr. Who - YIKES - I am not a whovian but I think he is becoming one! He watched 6 episodes back to back, I was burned out after the first one, lol! So I came into my craft room and made a couple cards... then he pestered me to have some cake with him, it was a sacrifice but I made it cause I love him ; )

My cards are very plain today - I just love those house mouse stamps but they are a chore to color - by the time I finished coloring them I think I'd lost my steam to make the cards... I also made 2 any hero cards I will write a note in and get this box out monday... maybe tuesday.

OWH Sketch challenge #170

and the any hero cards...

'gnite : )

Flower Power

I just love flowers on cards! It made me happy when I got am email from OWH that just practically screamed - 'Lorri make a flower card!' Ok it did not scream... geesh take all my creative license from me why don't you....   : )

So I made a couple!

Here is a link to the tut from OWH.

I was going to pitch them because my inner pearls did not stay round but nothing is perfect in nature, and nothing on my cards is ever perfect either, so I decided they were fine!

OWH's Midweek Throwdown...

I am a few days late posting my card - I had issues with uploading this week... it is a fairly common disorder called laziness ; )

Here is a link to OWH's Throwdown for this week, the theme for it was 'It's About Time'...

here is my card : )

My cardstock used in this card is a jumble - the dark brown in the back is Pop Tones Hot Fudge (from cutcardstock.com) the cream colored paper is recollections and the matted brown layer is DCWV, it comes in a textured mat stack (you can get it super cheap right now from DCWV Deals) The designer paper is from the Prima Engraver 6x6 pad - and it was so awesome, it took 1 sheet to make this card the only waste was the tiny bit I fussy cut away from the sides of the clocks! I have had this pad for a while and always forget to use it, now I have used it!

I had no time related sentiments, so I used a thankful one - cause I am always thankful for our military!

Made A New Album/A New Youtube Channel

Made A New Album/A New Youtube Channel

I posted a lil review of it on youtube - I don't know if I will ever get comfortable doing videos.
No more til I get a new webcam - much as I think the video came out clear it is a lil shaky cause I had to hold it.
If you go check it out plz like the video and leave a comment : ) And plz follow me.

And I would never want to disappoint anyone with no whining... it is 9 degrees outside and it is April 20th! That is just abnormal... geesh, I need it to warm up already! I am so ready to run away to the beach... we are going to be on the beach next week : )
I am hitting the road with Larry and he promised we could spend a couple days in florida - yippppeeeeee!

I hope your days are warm and sunny : )

...that's all I have to say is it is Monday...

Oh wait, there is more, hahaha. I have a few select tv shows I really watch, the tv may always be on for noise but I usually have no idea what is going on... but one of my favorite shows had it's season finale last night and I cried! Both larry and me cried, like big ole babies! It worries me they gave it too much of an ending... I mean if the show never came back it had a conclusion.

Oh so I really had nada to say, but while I am here I will rant a lil. I want the snow to melt, to go away already! Please anyone from the south who reads my blog open your most northern facing window and blow... not like I got a lil sand between my toes, I mean blow like it's your 29th birthday and you think you have a chance to turn back time! I really NEED a nice, warm day at the beach!

Ok rant over now I will return to hosting my cardage : )

This a play on things that fly... Kites do fly : ) I will probably make a birdy or maybe a bat, who knows if I can work a cute little bat into a spring card : ) I wouldn't want to get too normal!
If you want to help OWH reach their april goal in getting a few boxes of cards shipped for FREE from Our Daily Bread you can find the info here.

Suzanne Woolcott (gorjuss Girls!) Stamps...

Hello! Hope u are having a happy day!

I did, or should I say I am! It was kinda warm today, all of 25, which is very nice compare to the -18 below stuff - and I got good mail - I received my gorjuss stamps! Suzanne Woolcott has long been on of my favorite tube artists, so much so I have purchased her drawings and have them displayed! She is why I considered being copyright compliant -being aware of what is right and wrong is one thing, but being committed to complying with is is another thing... it was hard use peoples art illegally after getting to know them...

Many of you know I am a tube hoarder, I have thousand of tubes I have not got around to using yet, hopefully I will someday, but for now I am into the stamp thing... it is so much fun to color them in, with markers, water colors or even colored pencils, that is what I used today, just cheap old crayola pencils I have had since my boys were in Jr High...I am working on my technique... the shading mostly, I watch lots of videos and one day it will all come together - my hands and eyes will get in touch with my brain and then eureka it will all work : )

Do any of you watch this show called Amish mafia? This has got to be the most unbelievable show I have ever seen... I do not know alot about the Amish but I have known a few and they do not condone violence! But you know I watch it, cause it is like a bad cup of coffee, lol, I drink it because at least it is coffee even though it leaves a bad taste behind... the whole time I watch this show I just say no way after all sorts of stuff... now they are having a barn fight... yea I did it, I said NO WAY : )

I made a lil card while I was watching the last episode... I just love this stamp, now I need more of them!

I think I will go get under the covers and read for a bit - no more amish mafia for me tonight... well maybe I will wait til after the fella Jolen fights... eeehhh why not...

Just another of Sketch 154

I love those Bees!

OWH Sketch 154

I had to try this one because I like the little window look - I don't particularly like how my cards turned out but the sketch is awesome : ) I am bound and determined to finish up the Immortal papers - just a little better than half of them to go... I have to remind myself of this paper pack when I go to buy a stack that just 'sounds' good, lol, sounding good and looking good are 2 different things!I still have a complete 12X12 stack of this stuff is anyone is in love with it - I'd trade for something more "Me"! Somehow I think I will have the 12X12 stack a very long time...

That ribbon is going to lay flat - the ribbon is pulled through the other side, like you do when you put a faux belt on a skirt and the bow on top is faux too.

ok here are my cards - I love that rose, it comes from... ??GUESS??... lol, yes from the immortal chipboard box... I really bought it all thinking I was going to LOVE the set, I do like some of the elements...

and here is the sketch 154 from OWH -

These cards are for the January challenge over at OWH. It is sponsored by Our Daily Bread Stamps - if OWH gets 50 cards ODB will pay for the shipping on 2 boxes of cards for our Troops! If you create at all it would be an awesome thing to get in on : )

Set #1 Spring Theme

#2 - Fathers Day

Come on SUMMER!

I wanna go to the beach, I want to sit in the sand, feel the sun baking me I want to swim with the fishes in the gulf... I am so tired of the cold! I am so sorry I ever complained about the heat, I am so sorry I get hives from the sun... I will live with hives, I just want out of this extreme cold!

Yes I am having a little pity party all by myself... it will pass.

Just 72 more days til Spring...

That's it, lol, nothing else but a rant...

Have a nice evening : )

Just a quick note to say.... Hello and Happy New Year!

I cannot believe 2012 is behind us. The year flew by - so much sadness for me, so many disappointments and changes - I just know 1013 will be better... why not I mean it does end in the a 13. People either embrace the number 13 or they dread it - me I have never had the number affect me one way or the other so I will embrace it, and hope it is a good year : )

I was so tired last night - this giving up caffeine was kicking my butt - so tired but I could not sleep because I had a headache that would not go away - so while I laid awake and suffered I had to really question why I wanted to give up caffeine... it is just a control issue. I hate to be controlled, even by something as meaningless as a cup of coffee in the morning! So I got up at 5 made me a pot of coffee, guzzled 1/2 the pot and finally got relief from the headache...and now at noon as I sip the first cup of my second pot I realize I was beaten by the bean, I cannot cope without it... I guess my addictions could be worse.

And this morning I opened my PSP for the first time in a while and made a lil tag - yep a very simple tag but it felt good to make something...

and I made some cards from the OWH sketch #153 - it is a nice one Julie, TY for it : )

and a card to show the fork bow - lol - had anyone told me to try this without a video I would have scratched my head and wondered what they were going on about - I really need visual aids...

Well that's all for show and tell - I am going to make some cookies but I will refrain from showing those, LOL, cause I know we all know what a chocolate chip cookie tastes like - but I will say I love my chocolate chip cookies better than any I have ever had - they are nice and crisp on the outside and gooey and so chocolatey on the inside - YUM - so now u want a cookie don't you - hahahaha... my sugar cookies are good too... and the best I have ever had too : )

Have a wonderful day - don't forget to eat a couple black eyes peas to make sure you see the good fortune when it comes your way this year : )
